The spirit of India is fundamentally defined by two basic core elements that have been embedded in its entire fabric of life – peace (Shanti) and knowledge (Gyan). Since the beginning of the time, India’s unquenched thirst to spread peace and acquire knowledge has brought a higher state of civility, culture and tolerance among its diverse society.
Peace through knowledge and knowledge through peace defines the two basic cornerstones of Indian society that needs to be further supported, strengthened and revitalized to overcome the societal fractions surfacing today. The modern India has created a vast gap among its society where, at one spectrum we have Indians ranking among World’s Top 10 richest, and at the same time about half of the Indian population falls below the International Poverty Line – it ranks amongst the countries with lowest literacy rates – and has been facing the fastest fragmentation of its society creating unrest within its borders.
